I bought these to replace a pair of much more form fitting north face ski pants that flare out at the bottom but have no 'padding' as they were getting a little snug. They were a size XS. I purchased the Medium and Small in these freedom pants and honestly would have been more comfortable in the Medium (waist is not very stretch/forgiving) but I couldn't take the bagginess around the hips and thighs. For reference, I am 5'7, 126lbs and normally wear 0/2 or Small in most clothing stores. The small required me to have the velcro adjusters at the max length. Height wise they fit great. Still not as flattering as the form fitting pair, but they are warmer for sure and have air vents, pockets etc. I wore them during blizzard conditions and on a nice bluebird day 20's weather. I was warm enough but not roasting hot. The color is super nice paired with a black jacket or even navy, easy to spot on the slopes. I just wish they were cuter looking on, definitely add bulk to the overall look. Saying that, they are well priced for the tech and I'm happy to have them. I will likely purchase a bigger size of the form fitting ones to rotate on spring days.
